Welcome to NovoBot
Novobot is the most convenient smart headline
viewer and news ticker for popular news feed formats (RSS/RDF/XML).
Novobot can dramatically improve your web
browsing experience. You build a queue from the available sites, start the
queue and do your work. Novobot will load each site from the queue and extract
headlines together with sub-headings and links. When the queue processing
is complete (or during the processing) you can browse through the retrieved
headlines and surf to the content of interest with your default browser.
No more wandering over the entire Web in the pursuit of interesting stuff—it's
all here, in your Novobot window.
Different
Novobot differs from other available headline
viewers in its ability to process not only syndicated XML (RSS, RDF) content,
but almost any web page (HTML) that has headlines and links clearly defined
in any of its parts. Other differences include visibility of all headlines
in the same window, for easy browsing, user-selectable fonts, History feature
to hide read headlines, semitransparent news ticker, and more.
Better workflow
Novobot provides a better way of working
with all the news you get from the Internet. Here is how.
1. Launch Novobot as you start your work
2. Start the queue and forget about it
3. As you have your break, read all the news Novobot gathered in its window
as you would read a newsletter.
Novobot does not require you to choose
and select your feeds to read new messages, as many other aggregators do.
No more excessive clicking around just to read the news. Novobot displays
articles in a single window for convenient scrolling through them.
Tickers
A unique Novobot feature is ticker windows
for efficient news reporting while keeping out of your way as you do other
tasks.

This scrolling miniticker stays on
top of other windows and keeps you informed about incoming news. Once you
hover your mouse over a scrolling headline, it becomes "hot" and the scrolling
stops. When you click, the link changes colour to reflect its "visited"
state and is opened in your default web browser.

Another kind of ticker cycles headlines
in a small topmost window, providing you not only with headings but telling
you more, so that in many cases you could save a browser visit to the linked
article.
Tray Icon

A tray icon animates during headline
retrieval and notifies you of any new headlines by displaying a red dot.
Easy channel addition

Many useful news channels are supplied
out-of-the-box with Novobot, and many more can be added using the new New
Channel dialog. You enter a feed link (URL), and Novobot figures out the
rest, getting the feed, determining its format, creating a new channel as
a Novobot file and adding it to your queue. The most popular feed formats
are supported, including RDF and RSS, with support for more formats on the
way.
